Rabbi Bob Alper is the only practicing clergyman
doing stand-up comedy...intentionally, that is. His fresh, contemporary and
totally "unorthodox" style of comedy has been delighting audiences around the
country. His unique brand of humor appeals to everyone - from a synagogue
crowd to a corporate event to a comedy club.
A native of Providence, Rhode Island, Bob is a
graduate of Lehigh University, was ordained at Hebrew Union College in
Cincinnati and is the first Jewish person to ever earn a doctorate from the
Princeton Theological Seminary. He has served congregations in Buffalo and
Philadelphia which, naturally, prepared him for a career as a stand-up comic.
Bob is the author of two books, Life Doesn't Get
Any Better Than This, and, A Rabbi Confesses. He performs nearly 100 shows per
year, drawing tremendous audience numbers wherever he appears, because he is
talented, unique, and funny.
Bob resides in Vermont with his wife, Sherri, and their two children, Zack
and Jessie.
