Warming Instructions
|
Serving your Heavenly Ham
Your Heavenly Ham is fully cooked and does not need to be heated
prior to serving. Because there is no added water, over heating the
ham can cause it to become dry. However, if you feel you need to
warm it, please follow these instructions:
Preheat oven to 325°F. Place ham on rack in roasting pan, remove the
dry-lock pad and cover with foil. You may fill the bottom of the
roasting pan with ½” of water to help retain moisture. Roast until
the internal temperature is 120°F. Using a meat thermometer will
insure the best results since hams vary in weight and ovens vary in
temperature. However, it generally takes 7-8 minutes per pound to
reach the desired temperature. Unused portions of the ham should be
refrigerated and consumed within a week.
To freeze, wrap tightly in aluminum foil and place in an airtight
plastic bag. The ham can be frozen for up to 45 days. Reheat hams
and turkeys to an internal temperature of 120°F, then immediately take
out of the oven to avoid dryness. |
Thawing Instructions
To properly thaw your Heavenly Ham, place in refrigerator over
night or until completely thawed. |
Carving Instructions
For a smaller serving size, insert your knife into the ham at the
bone and cut around the bone as if you were coring an apple. Then
make cuts along the natural lines on the ham’s surface and along the
bone. |
Serving your Heavenly Turkey
Our turkeys come fully cooked, ready to serve and do not need to be
heated. However, if you prefer to heat your turkey, place it fully
defrosted in an open roasting pan. Insert a meat thermometer so that
the bulb is centered in the meatiest part of the breast. Do not
cover.
Whole Turkeys should be warmed in a pre-heated 300°F oven for 45-55
minutes (Bone-In Turkey Breasts and Boneless Turkeys for approximately
20-25 minutes) or until the internal temperature is greater than 120°
(warm) or greater than 130° (hot). It generally takes 7-8 minutes
per pound to reach the desired temperature. Unused portions of
turkey should be refrigerated and consumed within a week.
To freeze, wrap tightly in aluminum foil and place in an airtight
plastic bag. Turkeys can be frozen for up to 14 days. Reheat hams
and turkeys to an internal temperature of 120°F, then immediately take
out of the oven to avoid dryness. |

What Size to Send or Serve?
|
| The size of the ham depends on
the number of people you plan to serve. One third pound per person
is a good rule of thumb for a buffet or party; one half pound per
person for a more formal, sit-down dinner. The following table
offers some suggested serving sizes: |
